It gives me great pleasure to announce that Cassidy & Pinkard will sponsor the 2005 Race for Hope 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Brain Tumor Society. Last year 3,500 participants raised more than $700,000, making it one of the most successful races in the Washington, DC area. This year promises to be another record breaker!
Cassidy & Pinkard became the title sponsor of the Race for Hope in 2000 after my father, Pat Cassidy, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This year, more than 200,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with a brain tumor. But there is hope. Medical advances made in the past few years have surpassed all of the previous 20 years. Through the phenomenal efforts of family, friends and coworkers at Cassidy & Pinkard, nearly $2 million has been raised in the past seven years. Each year on race day, we are gratified to see so many "survivors," - a number of whom participate in the race!
This year's fundraising goal is
$1 million. With your help, I know we can make it.
I invite you to be a part of the
search for a cure by running or walking with me, my family and the Cassidy &
Pinkard team in The Race for Hope, on
Sunday, May 1, 2005, at 8:30 a.m.
at
Freedom Plaza, Washington, DC.
Visit the race website at www.curebraintumors.org for details and click on "join/start team" to register for a great day of family, friends and fun. Please remember to stop by the Cassidy & Pinkard Hospitality Tent on race day - we can share stories of how fit we "used to be" over a bottle of water. If you cannot attend but wish to support this important effort with a donation, please click on the following link: https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=93466&lis=0&kntae93466=746B2CDBE02345D59B52A2E65F353241&supId=41280646
On behalf of all those fighting the brave fight against brain cancer, I thank you for your support. It gives them hope and honors my father's memory.
Warm Regards,
James
