On March 24, WRFC will host
a Wine Tasting Party to tip off the Cherry Blossom
Tournament. This is your Passport to Wines from Around the World. The
party will be at the Wyndham Hotel in Washington, DC at 7:30pm.
This is a wine-tasting experience
that complements every style and preference! Discover how to
taste, judge and evaluate wines like a professional, then take
off for a tasting of wines from eight different regions around
the world. Robert Cavanaugh, host of Ultrasport TV's Racing
Through Wine Country and Vintage Brothers radio show leads the
expedition.
From the crisp and citrusy flavors of New Zealand’s Sauvignon
Blanc to Australia’s rich, fruit-forward Chardonnay packed with
melon, pineapple and pear, it’s all about variety and choices.
Sample full-bodied red wines from Spain and hearty, robust Syrah
from Sonoma County. Explore Italy, a nation literally blanketed
from tip to toe with vines as we taste the rustic, romantic reds
of Tuscany’s Brunello di Montalcino before moving onto the
finest red blends wines from France's Bordeaux region.
Curb your appetite in between with choices of pasta, selections
of gourmet pizza, Caesar Salad stations and other food displays.
Cap the evening in a memorable fashion with a sampling of
specially selected wines from California.
Co-Hosted by Things to Do DC and the Washington Wine Academy,
proceeds from this event go toward the 41st Annual Cherry
Blossom Rugby Tournament.
Suggested Attire: Business Casual
Cost: $65.00 Ticket
